Welcome to the blog of Shantell Wyatt Photography! This is where you can find sneek peaks, recent session showcases, current specials, and view products.

I'll also be blogging about my life, which is full of fun, rarely a dull moment! I am known as mommy to a charismatic 6 yr old girl, and a rambunctious and bull-headed 3 yr old boy. My husband supports me in all my endeavors and I thank him for that, this dream would not be possible without his positive attitude!

I specialize in a more candid approach to photography, my style can be seen both here and on my website. Please feel free to browse around; bookmark my site, I truly hope my blog becomes a favorite of yours. I hope that you enjoy my work as much as I do, and I welcome you to check back often and watch the kids grow!
Memories all too often fade....remember the best ones.

Still Friends

As the season is changing, I am constantly reminded of the absence of my very good friend Nancy. Wednesday March 27th marked 6 months since her tragic & unexpected death. Not a day goes by that I don't think of her & her girls. As we all know good friends are hard to come by, & I've felt a little lost without her. I wonder if I've changed since her death & if she is with me, knows me & is still my friend. I believe she is. I talk to her & look forward to when I can see Nancy again, & catch up on things, as if she's just away for awhile.

Just a short year ago, my husband Josh, me, Nancy & her husband Bryan took an awesome weekend trip to Galveston. We left the kids & worries behind, and had a blast! Here's me & Nancy from the trip.

I put together a slideshow for Nancy's funeral & got to keep a copy of all the pictures. This is by far my most favorite of all of them. This is who Nancy was, she took time to be with her kids, they were everything to her. She treated my kids as if they were her own. Abby, who's 5 colored her a picture that we took to her grave, Caleb who is 2, still calls her name when he sees a car like hers. When we mentioned going to her grave, he got excited thinking we were going to her house to see her. Bless their hearts :)

This picture brings tears to my eyes everytime I see it. I think all moms have similar pictures with their children, just being together.

Nancy passed away from complications of a stroke. The most health conscience person I knew, always in her running shoes from a several mile jog (with the family) or on her way to the gym where we all worked out together. I have learned a thing or two about the signs of a stroke.

Please see here for signs of a stroke, and information about what to do if you think you or someone around you may be having a stroke.

Thanks for letting me share a good memory from a great friend. I'll be back to blog about something a little more cheery soon :)

You are so lucky to have had her in your life! I always envied her and her family taking runs in the neighborhood-that was so nice to see. I wish I had known her better, but I could certainly tell she was a great human being.
You are welcome to share any memories of her anytime!
